Assignment Goals:
The assignment I chose was my ELA essay about The Hate U Give book. The essay was a little over 2 pages, and the goal was 2 pages. We had to choose 2 of 4 different topics, and I chose to do a summary of the full story, and then I also chose to insert myself into the story, and see what would happen.
Why I want to show this work:
I worked hard on this project and got 19/20 on it. I think it is a good showing of my writing style, and how my brain works in a way.
21st Century Skills:
This essay uses the first 21s century skill, Information Skills. I read the book and analyzed it, and its different characters. For example, we did a character organizer, that included the character’s motivations, relationships, and other important information.
Current Growth:
This essay was not extremely difficult, but it was long. I did enjoy writing it, and I personally think that I am a better writer afterwards. I liked the book The Hate U Give. I liked how it portrayed what is actually happening in the world, and it needs to stop.
New Growth:
I believe I just need to keep reading and writing, to improve. After all, skill makes decent, practice makes good, but both are required for perfection. I think that I do need to organize my writing a bit better, but again, practice, practice, practice.
